Abstract

Psychological defence and coping behavior — most important adaptive process in crisis situations. Post-traumatic growth also has two sides: illusory, misleading, and constructive, promoting realistic perception. Psychological assistance has to be directed both on strengthening of psychological defense, and on coping with crisis situation. Article aim — from a position of psychology of faith, to prove author's approach to rendering crisis psychological assistance at which an important task of intervention is strengthening of psychological defense (formation of positive illusions) for stabilization of an emotional state and strengthening of resources.

Psychological aspects of faith as important resource of resilience are considered: universal character; acceptance of a picture of the world of this faith is unconditional; feeling of subjective accuracy in knowledge and an appraisal of the events; possibility of the translation of the mental phenomenon from language of feelings and images through experiences into language of words.

Treatments of faith in scientific and religious paradigms are given. Features of religious faith are discussed: a frontage in an inner world; concentration on the area of incognizable (metaphysical); recognition of contradictions with rational knowledge; discovery of meanings by inspiration and in the course of suggestion; support on archetypes, ceremonies and rituals; existence of answers to fundamental questions; creation of the simplified and clear picture of the world.

For an empirical illustration of theoretical provisions the developed clinical example of crisis psychological assistance of a teenager enduring the psychotraumatic situations of school success-failure, mobbing, death of the family members and relatives is presented.

Psychological intervention is directed both, on the organization of the help of adults to the teenager in coping with these situations, and on strengthening of his faith that he is worthy of unconditional acceptance and respect.

Positive experience of the relations of the teenager with the grandfather is used as an inter-generational resource for protective positive identification. Application of art-therapy techniques of "artificial wailing of the dead", conditional division of the worlds of "living" and "dead"; creation of the directed suggestive dialogue, based on traditional rituals, — strengthen the faith of the teenager in existence of the internal resources and social support necessary for the overcoming of difficulties of life and achievement of what is desired in the future.

Key words: crisis psychology and psychotherapy; psychological defense and coping; psychology of faith, religious belief; loss of the loved one; inter-generational relations; protective positive identification; art-therapy techniques of "artificial wailing of the dead", conditional division of the worlds of "living" and "dead"; directed suggestive dialogue, positive illusions; strengthening of resources.

Introduction

Crisis psychology and psychotherapy — the actual and quickly developing area of the theory and practice of medical psychology. The crisis state, arising when blocking purposeful activity of the person, is followed by growth of tension and anxiety and conducts to activation of all levels of one’s protective system [5; 15; 19]. At a favorable outcome of crisis, person acquires new life experience, expands the range of adaptive strategies of coping, strengthens and expands personal and social resources. If it isn't possible to overcome crisis, — fixation on inadequate ways of the solution of problems, depression, regression, diseases, suicide and death can turn out to be the consequence [8; 10; 14].

According to two-component model of post-traumatic growth, subconscious psychological defense and conscious coping-behavior participate in adaptation of the personality to crisis situations. Thanks to that, post-traumatic growth has two sides: illusory, dysfunctional, misleading the client, and functional, constructive, promoting realistic perception.

Psychological defense as the misleading party is the first, which joins in process of adaptation to stress. The second side, coping-behavior, — corresponds to the long-term adaptation, strengthening health [14; 21]. On this basis, psychological assistance in situations of crisis has to be directed both on strengthening of psychological defense (formation of positive illusions), and on coping with a crisis situation (a conscious solution of problem or the adaptation to a problem if it can't be solved). Herewith we consider stabilization of an emotional state and strengthening of resources of the client on the basis of formation of positive illusions and strengthening of psychological defense as an actual task of crisis psychological intervention [5].

The psychology of faith can act as the theoretical basis of this approach to rendering psychological assistance in crisis situations [1; 7]. The purpose of the present article — is to show, on the example of the analysis of a medical case, how the reliance on faith of the client, which is becoming actual in the process of crisis psychological intervention, allows to strengthen his personal resources and promotes positive personal growth in the course of a coping with the injuring situations of life.

Psychological aspects of faith

Faith — a powerful resource of life survival. The state of faith allows the person to accept a picture of the world of this faith and data corresponding to it, fully and unconditionally. Then to add to them the representations and conclusions which will become the basis of his "I" and will define his acts, judgments and norms [9]. The faith is defined as the mental state, which amplifies in a situation of the increasing indeterminacy, and acts as a consequence of need to have knowledge where it is, for some reason, impossible. In such representation the faith can be understood as the preliminary result of consciousness's work, forming person's conceptualization of communications and relations of this world and the place of person in it. Scientific creation of uncontroversial picture of the world is based not only upon mechanisms of knowledge and forestalling, but also on the work of psychological protective mechanisms [1; 2].

The faith always gives the person the feeling of subjective faithfulness in knowledge and an assessment of the events. In the initial form it is an emotionally painted experience, which is presented in consciousness of the person, appears as an event of own life and therefore possesses special internal faithfulness. Precisely because of the sensing of subjective faithfulness, religious, mystical experience is authoritative for the ones involved in it, and any its denial by means of rational arguments — is inefficient. B. Russell considered faith as the special conductor between the feeling and knowledge, the transformer, which transfigures intellectual energy (knowledge) — into soul energy. Thus, the faith can be referred both to area of feelings, and to area of cognitive processes, as mind operates on feelings not directly, but through faith. (The paradox is, that it is possible not to know, but to believe, and it is possible to know, but not to believe) [1]. Such features of faith are of great importance for psychotherapy, where the translation of the psychical phenomena from language of feelings and images through emotional experiences to the language of words and vice versa is important.

Each person has a faith — there are no such people, that have absolutely no faith in anything. To make a discovery, any scientist, at first has to be convinced that it is possible, in other words — to believe, that this road will lead him somewhere. In fact, the faith is a peculiar bridge between what the person has and what he wants. In English, theoretical belief that something exists (belief), and religious belief (faith) are accurately differed. Both of them are based on facts. However, if the belief in science, its hypotheses, which connect ideas and conclusions, remains within authentically established at the moment, the religious belief is focused on the area of the incognizable (metaphysical) and extends dependences of supernatural to all nature [13].

The science concentrates efforts on the general methods of ordination of panhuman experience, on knowledge about the outside world. However many achievements of science, providing better life and prosperity of mankind on limited part of Earth and for the short period of time, at the same time, in the long term, lead to degradation of humanity and even death of mankind.

The religion helps the person to see the new significant purposes in the inner world. The epicenter of its interests is harmony of views and behavior in community of people and inside the individual. Unlike science, the religion allows existence of contradictions with rational knowledge, with logic. The truth in it can be given directly — as revelation, in other words — it opens sense not by means of mind, but because of insight, by the way of direct comprehension and during the process of suggestion.

Such asymmetry of learning the world by the person, through logic and intuition, is a consequence of specifics of brain's organization, which has two hemispheres, possessing different opportunities and rules of information processing, which are arriving from the outside. It provokes formation of a peculiar double-peak system, where, at top of the Model of the World of conscious knowledge (presented in the left hemisphere) there is science, and at top of the Model of the World of the right hemisphere, which is using unconscious intuitive comprehension of the world — religion. Thereby, the reliance of religion on the unconscious archetypes, possessing powerful and unconditional operating impact on behavior and subconscious psychological protection, allows to understand why the religion possesses the powerful emotional and inspiring force [1; 2].

Strong points of religious faith — existence of answers to fundamental questions. For example, answers to such questions, which arise in each of us in a situation of loss of the loved one: Whether there is a life after death? How to behave with the dying person? Whether to tell him that he will die? How to console the relative of the died? [12]. The answers in religion are not only available, but they are rather simple. Therefore the faith can act as the tool, which allows to understand events (inevitability of death), to establish their connection with "a normal situation" ("all are mortal"), to strengthen resources of person ("the death is the birth in other life"). The ability to simplify situation and, in the simplified form, to organize its perception, allows to resist chaos and to construct the world filled with sense ("it is necessary to live further"). When everything becomes clear to the person, his alarm is decreasing, positive emotions appear, the forces to overcome difficulties emerge [7].

The efficiency of deep impact of religion on people is connected with the fact, that religion, as well as science, is based on objective laws, — not laws of the physical environment, but of the social environment. It allows to change mentality indirectly, guiding the person to personal progress, by the way of development of morals and personal morality and, thereby, strengthening the psychical equilibrium and health. Such influence of religious faith on the personality is promoted by the phenomenon of "a social imprinting" [4]. According to this phenomenon, up to younger teen age, the public context of development of the personality (tradition, social and language stereotypes of the environment) is absorbed and gets into mentality of the child so deeply, that it is comparable to influence of congenital individual properties of the person. Since childhood and all subsequent life, the person relies on traditions of the one’s nation, thinks by rules of the organization of the native language and uses the metaphors acquired in the childhood. Therefore, irrespective of whether the child's family believed in God or not, visited the church or not, — these facts are of no importance, but it is of great importance to what religious culture belonged the child's environment, what religious traditions and cultural stereotypes he reflected, in what ceremonies and rituals he participated. Ceremonies and rituals regulate personal and public behavior, assist in situations, in which members of society communally live through, feel deeply and realize own collectivity in certain moments of life. Waking up certain feelings through inner emotions, rituals fix the standards of commonly-accepted behavior, transfer them from generation to generation and acquaint children with traditions of behavior of adults [1].

It has been established, that the more the mentality of person is developed, the worse it perceives direct instructions on how it is necessary to behave, and all forms of direct pressure. In this regard psychologists and psychotherapists traditionally use various technics of indirect management of behavior, including suggestion. Otherwise, external management is realized by the person, as coercion, that activates the psychological protection, which hinders objective perception of the incoming information. Therefore, effective management of behavior of the person in many respects depends on ways of indirectness of desirable behavior by his faith and personal interest.

We will examine the medical case, which illustrates the use of theoretical aspects of psychology of faith in the practice of crisis psychological assistance.

Roma’s case

Roma, 13 years, the pupil of the 7th form, is directed on consultation to the medical psychologist by the school psychologist after teachers' council, where the question of his expelling from school was resolving. Complaints: lowering in school performance, bad working ability, inattention, difficulties of relationship with schoolmates. "Lies on a school desk" at the lessons, refuses to perform written tasks. Roma lives with parents, the relations with them are satisfactory. Among other close relatives he tells about grandmother, spontaneously tells about death of the grandfather — 2 years ago.

Mother has a chronic pyelonephritis. During pregnancy clamidiosis was diagnosed. On the 26th week of pregnancy there were diagnosed: threat of an abortion, risk of a premature abruption of placenta and fetal hypoxia. Diagnosis of the teenage therapist: syndrome of vegetative dysfunction, chronic focal infection, dysplasia of conjunctive tissue. According to mother’s words, the diagnosis of the logopedist: elements of a dyslexia and dysgraphia.

At the first session, the acquaintance of the medical psychologist with mother and Roma took place; short conversation with mother (in the absence of the teenager) and psychological diagnostics of the teenager by method of serial drawings and stories (in the absence of mother) [6]. We provide the shorthand report of the stories, created by Roma, using his drawings on the given theme with a reliance on the psychologist's questions.

The story on the drawing "Self-portrait"

"My name is Roma. I am 6 years old on the drawing. I'm at home. Mood is good. I think about school, about what mark will be".

The story on the drawing "My Family" (on the drawing are consistently represented: mother, a dog, Roma at the age of 11 years and father)

"We are at home. We discuss where to go in the summer to have a rest. I would like to visit the USA, Washington. Mother — to Paris. And father — to the sea, where it is warm".

The story on the drawing "If I Had a Magic Wand"

"If I had a magic wand, I would turn into a hawk. The free, strong bird — the strongest wins…"

The story on the drawing "I am in the class"

"This is the music teacher shouting — I didn't write down the list of works.

She: Why don't you write?

I: I didn’t have time. I consider it useless, all the same I won't remember all works. There is information everywhere, there is no point to remember it.

She: Write further, and that’s it!"

The story on the drawing "I am outliving"

"I punch the wall — I endure rage. I am offended: obscenities, derisions, mockery of schoolmates. "Steep grouping, 7 people of boys". Deride, beat. I think out a way how to fight back. I try not to knock. One girl already left the class. Two more will leave now".

The story on the drawing "I do not want to remember that"

"It is the end of the lesson of literature. Olga Ivanovna shouts: "Get out from the class!" She threw the textbook. I was punished unfairly. She understates marks. I did not stand at the blackboard since the beginning of the year, she puts quarterly marks only for written works".

The story on the drawing "Bright future"

"It is I near my school. I don't want to leave anywhere".

The short conclusion on the results of psychodiagnostics by method of serial drawings and stories: a conflict combination of reactions of regress and emancipation, the depressive background of mood, the suppressed aggression, the conflict relations with teachers because of bad literacy, when performing written tasks and refusal to ask orally, persecution by the grouping of schoolmates within academic year ("obscenities", "derisions", "mockery", "tracing", "kicks").

In the course of discussion of the situation of persecution, to the question of whether teachers and parents know, Roma answered affirmatively and explained that other children are bullied too ("one girl was even transferred to other school"). The class master and the director of studies "don't react to the persecution facts, even if parents complain, his parents complained too — but it is useless". Though he "tries not to tattle".

According to the instruction of the psychologist at the end of the first session he wrote the list of "difficult life situations, which he would like to discuss":

derisions from schoolmates,
"F" for English,
a call to teachers' council,
Russian language lessons,
death of the schoolmate,
death of the grandfather,
death of a dog,
death of the great-grandmother.

After the first session, the medical psychologist carried out crisis intervention for the purpose of rendering psychological assistance to Roma for coping with actual difficulties: conflict relations with teachers and persecution by grouping of schoolmates (mobbing). During private telephone conversation with the school psychologist the assessment of Roma's condition of physical and mental health was given, with emphasis on the syndrome of vegetative dysfunction and its possible communication with the chronic psychotraumatic situations, signs of a dysgraphia and dyslexia, as specific violation of training, which has neurologic nature. The requests are expressed — to deal with a mobbing situation ("which can be a subject of attention of public prosecutor's investigation"), to ask teachers — to check the knowledge in oral form more.

At the second session, which took place two weeks later, Roma reported that it became "relatively quieter" to him. Situation at school became "more silent" — the truant officer came, he talked to "the leader of grouping and his parents". Teachers began to call to answer near the blackboard, and not just to demand the performance of written tasks. He participated in competition for the best vocalist of school, and he passed to the second round.

The psychologist showed Roma the list of difficult life situations, made by him on the previous session, and asked what he wants to discuss today. There was an answer: "Death of the grandfather".

He said that, when he studied at elementary school, he often lived in the grandmother's and grandfather's house. Grandfather was a military man earlier. The grandfather communicated with Roma much ("He told about war, about tanks and planes"). The grandfather died of blood stroke. The grandfather was not in the hospital for long at all, "to visit him there — was frightfully". Roma did not attend the funeral of his grandfather, but knows where the grandfather is buried — he goes there sometimes with parents.

To the psychologist's question of what was the main thing in communication with the grandfather, he answered: "I felt that I was needed by someone".

Crisis psychological intervention is carried out. Purpose: rendering psychological assistance in the coping with the outliving of loss and mobilization of resources with the reliance on psychology of faith [7]. The art-therapy techniques strengthening psychological defense of the client were used: "artificial mourning of the dead", conditional division of the worlds of "living" and "dead"; creation of the directed suggestive dialogue between the client and died relative, with the subsequent transfer of the client to the world of the positive future [5; 6; 7].

We provide the shorthand report of a session.

The psychologist gives Roma the task: "I'm crying, my grandfather died" — to draw himself "as if he came to the grave and grieves about the grandfather".

Roma draws a grave among high trees, draws himself, standing near the obelisk and in the distance — figures of parents.

The psychologist gives the second task — to draw an image of grandfather on the other sheet of paper: "As though he is in the sky, in the clouds, and looks at you".

Roma draws the sky, two clouds and between them — an image of grandfather in the form of the sun with eyes and a mouth — hyphen.

P.: When you came to the cemetery, you are crying and you are remembering your grandfather, if you could tell him something, what would it be? Write.

R. (writes on the first sheet of paper where the cemetery is drawn and he himself): I miss you very much.

P. (reads these words): As if your grandfather hears this: I miss you very much. What will he tell you in reply?

R. (writes on the drawing with image of his grandfather, on behalf of the grandfather): I miss you too.

P. (repeats these words): I miss you too. What else can you tell him?

R.: finds it difficult to answer.

P.: For example, you can tell how you liked to communicate with the grandfather, to listen to his stories.

R. (writes on the first sheet of paper): I liked it very much, when you were telling stories.

P. (pronounces his words): I liked it very much when you were telling stories. When the grandfather hears this, if he could speak, what would he say? Write.

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): It's a pleasure for me, that you remember these stories.

P.: The grandfather says that it's a pleasure for him, that you remember these stories. What other good things would you like to tell the grandfather?

R.(writes on the first sheet of paper): I want to be as kind as you.

P. (pronounces his words): I want to be as kind as you. What will the grandfather say to this?

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): Thank you that you think of me so.

P.: The grandfather says that it's a pleasure for him, that you think good of him. What else will you say to him?

R.: finds it difficult to answer.

P.: Perhaps, you want to tell him about your difficulties?

R. (writes on the first sheet of paper): I had many difficulties recently, but it is better for you not to know about this.

P. (pronounces his words): I had many difficulties recently, but it is better for you not to know about this. What could the grandfather say to you in reply?

R.: doesn't know what to answer.

P.: Does the grandfather say: "Each person has difficulties, but you will be able to overcome them"?

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): Each person has difficulties, but you can overcome them.

P. (having pronounced words of the grandfather): What person did your grandfather consider you to be, what qualities will help you to overcome difficulties?

R.: finds it difficult to answer.

P.: Did the grandfather consider you to be: courageous, resolute, clever, kind — what kind of person?

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): Roma, I always considered you to be clever, good, brave.

P.: (pronounces his words): Roma, I always considered you to be clever, good, brave. What will you say in reply?

R. (writes on the first sheet of paper): Thank you!

P.: Does your grandfather believe that you will work everything out?

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): I believe that you will work everything out.

P.: Your grandfather believes, that you will work everything out. It is also important to him to know — who helps you now, who understands you?

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): Who helps you now, who understands you?

P. (having pronounced the question): Answer him.

R. (writes on the first sheet of paper): Mother.

P.: The grandfather also asks you to keep his image in your memory.

R. (writes on behalf of the grandfather): I want you to keep my image in your memory.

P. (having repeated these words): What will you say to the grandfather in the end?

R. (writes on the first sheet of paper on his own behalf): Alright. You will remain in my heart forever.

After completion of the dialogue with the grandfather two more tasks are made and discussed together: "The pleasant memories, connected with the grandfather" and "I — before and after the death of the grandfather". The first of them revealed that the grandfather was not only Roma’s interlocutor, but also his teacher: at the summer house he taught Roma to saw, to scrape, to hammer nails ("May l try? — Yes, try, take the saw as it is more convenient to you"). The second task revealed, that before the death of the grandfather, Roma "… felt like the child, smiled", and after the death of the grandfather "he matured, and the sadness lodged in his soul".

At the end of the second session a task was given for the purpose of stabilization of the state: "I am so happy, I am so delighted". Roma drew and told how he performed at contest of vocalists, experienced "excitement, pride, pleasure" and, "at last, gave a good account of himself".

At the third, finishing session, a week after the second session, the sudden death of the girl — schoolmate was discussed, as well as Roma's thoughts about the fact, that not only the elders die, but also the young: "What if I were she? If I die, I will be cremated too? What will become of mother?" and the feeling of a growing up: "I became more serious, less jokes, less lulz, I began to understand that schoolmates can leave suddenly, and I treated them badly". To a question, what are now his relations with children who bullied him, he told that they "… consider themselves higher than all, show force. But I am not afraid of them — I will stick to my principles". To a question, whether he believes that he will work it out, he answered: "Yes".

Catamnesis in a year: he studies at the same school, at the 8th form, having "B"s and "C"s. He is seriously fond of music. The relations between him and the school psychologist are warm and fiducial.

Discussion

In the presented example the case of the teenager who is outliving some psychotraumatic situations at the same time is considered: school crisis (the conflict relations with teachers because of the poor academic success), violence (mobbing — bullying by the group of schoolmates), death of family members (the grandfather, the great-grandmother) and close ones (the schoolmate, the dog). Roma's inability to resolve crisis situations against lack of effective support from adults is followed by deterioration of his physical and mental condition, refusal of implementation of school requirements, leads to risk of social disadaptation (an expulsion of school).

Tentative crisis intervention of the psychologist is directed to the help the teenager in coping with two actual crisis situations: conflict relations with teachers and mobbing. It is important to understand that these problems are solved not by Roma, who does not possess personal and social resources, necessary for this purpose, but by the helping adults (psychologists, teachers, the truant officer). Social support leads to improvement of the life condition of the teenager, what allows him to submit for discussion one more psychotraumatic subject — death of the grandfather.

In the course of conversation it becomes clear, that the died grandfather was especially significant man for the grandson — in communication with him, Roma "…felt that I was needed by someone". The grandfather was a military man, told "about war, tanks, planes" and, apparently, he was identified by the grandson as a "hero". From a position of psychology of faith it is possible to assume, that emotionally painted experience, connected with the grandfather and presented in the consciousness of the teenager, has a special internal credibility for him: Roma believes that he was needed by the grandfather, in other words, he believes that the grandfather accepted him unconditionally. That particular faith could be used as an inter-generational resource for strengthening and formation of the I-conception of Roma, the image of his positive future.

It is known that the inter-generational relations in a family are shown at the behavioral level. Their positive experience is bound with goal setting by the person. These goals are focused on achievements in activity, that creates conditions for development of mature coping-behavior [11]. Image of the grandfather in imagination of the teenager can be considered as Roma's positive illusion, a resource for protective positive identification. (It is especially important in a situation, when parents did not manage "to protect" the son and, apparently, did not instill such self-confidence, which the grandfather managed to instill). The died grandfather "lives" in other reality — "the world of the dead". Roma, "who is among alive" cannot get there, and therefore he cannot see the died grandfather in person. It creates special conditions for idealization of a figure of the grandfather. As is well-known, the saint — is a clay, from which it is possible to mold any important image for living person, therefore the living people often don't suit the image of a person for positive identification [1].

The image of the died grandfather as a positive illusion, can be completed and changed in imagination in any way whatsoever, it can be embellished. This image will never disappoint, it is always possible to support sensual and mental contact with it, and it is always possible to get support and understanding from it. The imaginary dialogue is a special form of communication with the absent. (God isn't present in reality too, and saints, represented on icons, aren't present in reality too). Psychological protective mechanisms of identification and replacement allow to believe, that "they live somewhere there, and that we communicate with them" [2].

With the help of art-therapy techniques of "artificial wailing of the dead", conditional division of the worlds of "living" and "dead"; creation of the directed suggestive dialogue between the client and the died grandfather, the psychologist helps Roma to contact those, whom he believes in, and to receive all that useful things that he can receive from this person. The used techniques are based on traditional rituals, which are customary to use for coping with the outliving of loss of relatives in all cultures. In the course of the imagined dialogue with the grandfather, nothing is imposed to the teenager artificially. The most important interventions of the psychologist are formulated in the form of questions, which are directed to check the hypotheses, which he has, and simultaneous to render psychological influence on the teenager: Perhaps, you want to tell him about your difficulties? Does the grandfather say: "Each person has difficulties, but you will be able to overcome them"? The grandfather considered you to be courageous, resolute, clever, kind — which kind of person? Does your grandfather believe, that you will work everything out? It is also important to him to know — who helps you now, who understands you?

The imagined suggestive dialogue with the grandfather strengthens Roma's faith in being a worthy person and in having internal resources and social support for the overcoming of the difficulties of life and achievement of desired in the future. It is possible to see, that the belief of the scientist and Roma's belief are identical — the requirements, which they can't carry out in real life are implemented in their beliefs. The subsequent discussion of the subject of death of the schoolmate and personal changes, which happened to the teenager after the outliving of losses, shows his personal maturation, strengthening of belief in his own forces and abilities for overcoming difficult life situations.

Conclusion

All levels of protective system of the person and, first of all, subconscious psychological defense and conscious сoping-behavior participate in adaptation to crisis situations. In the longer term, the purpose of such an adaptation is to form the skill of coping consciously and independently with psychotraumatic situations and to structurally solve a problem or to adapt to it, if it can't be solved [3; 5]. However for achieving this purpose in a short term, the activation of psychological defense — the strengthening of faith, or the positive illusions allowing to sustain the challenge without destruction of the personality, is of great importance [5; 6; 7].

In the article the psychological aspects of faith are discussed, and, by the example of the analysis of a clinical case, it is shown, how the reliance on faith of the client, in the course of rendering crisis psychological intervention, strengthens his resources and promotes positive personal growth. The content of structure of faith consists of the values and ideals which are in its basis. Moving ahead to these purposes, the teenager starts to understand, that the energy of good and justice, ennobling the soul, becomes capable of bridling the feelings of strengthlessness, loneliness and despair.
